What to Do in Mississauga

Mississauga has a lot to offer. Located just west of Toronto, Mississauga is the 6th most populated city in Canada with nearly 700,000 people living there. It’s one of the main suburbs that makes up the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Here is a list of the many things you can do to enjoy yourself in Mississauga!

1. Visit Streetsville

Streetsville is home to historic sites such as:

-The beautiful Streetsville Mill, which is open to the public. The mill features guided tours that give you a look into life before electricity. There are also fun events happening throughout the year, including an annual vintage market and Christmas light up!

2. Spend a Day at the Square One Shopping Centre

3. Enjoy a Concert at Mississauga Celebration Square

4. Checkout Jack Darling Memorial Park

Jack Darling Memorial Park acts as a memorial to Jack Darling, who died in 2010. The Mississauga native founded Black T-shirt Day, an event that encourages youth to wear their favorite black t-shirts on the first Friday of August to remember those who have lost their lives because of bullying or suicide.

5. Discover Port Credit

Port Credit is a small village located along the waterfront of Lake Ontario. It’s also home to many shops, restaurants, and art galleries that are worth visiting!

6. See a Movie at SilverCity Mississauga

SilverCity Mississauga is an art deco-style theater with 10 theaters, one IMAX theater, and two UltraAVX screens. It also has a VIP lounge where you can order drinks and snacks!

7. Have a Picnic at Celebration Square

Celebration Square is a large plaza, with an amphitheater that holds concerts and other events! It’s also the home of the weekly farmer’s market held every Saturday until October 25th.

8. Shop at Outlet Collection at Toronto

Outlet Collection, formerly known as Premium Outlets Canada, is a large shopping center with many outlet stores! It’s near the intersection of highways 401 and 427, making it easy to access from any part of Mississauga!

9. Go to Mississauga Celebration Square

10. Visit the Port Credit Waterfront Festival
