As part of Cornwall’s first Ecoday, Transition Cornwall+ held mini tours at the Tiny Forest at the Library, at the Lamoureux Park Arboretum, at the Edible Gardens at the bandshell and at the Rotary Club Eco Gardens.

Photo 4: Rochelle Johnston of  Family Earth facilitated a brief, immersive, and playful “nature connection” activities for people of all ages to help them deepen their relationships with the Gardens’ species, elements, and systems.

These and many other exhibits across the City were held to draw attention to the urgent need for environmental and climate action. Information booths were located at the River Institute and the Raisin Region Conservation Authority. The Environment and Climate Change Committee held a scavenger hunt at the at the clock tower  and The Local Fill was helping us with tips to reduce our plastic use.

We saw a good cross section of local citizens as well as those visiting so we hope this event can grow and become a regular annual event.
