Rocking the Block

Rocking the Block made a lively comeback at Pommier Corner this afternoon as Christal Bowen led a high-energy outdoor Zumba session, cold weather and all.

It was a meaningful return for her:

“Andre asked me to come back and I’m honoured. This event’s been going on four years now,” she said.

Originally started with The Essential Kitchen, the event is now supported by downtown businesses and continues its tradition as a toy drive. And the community showed up. Bins were overflowing.

DJ Stacy McPhail kept the vibe going while Crystal kept everyone moving:

“It’s only cold if you’re standing still — and we don’t do that!”

Despite the chill, the corner was full of energy, music, and generous holiday spirit. Elves from Elevate Real Estate Group and dressed characters were helping out and serving hot chocolate! What a wonderful time!
