Another Cornwall Triathlon in the books

August 24th was Cornwall Triathlon day. It was a great turn-out and the rain held off for most of it. The event included a 5-km run, a Try-A-Tri, Spring and Olympic Triathlon distances, and a Sprint Duathlon.

I was on the water-rescue team volunteering on the river all morning and I can attest that in all my years in this role, today was probably the toughest. The swimmers had their work cut out for them fighting waves and high wind gusts. The volunteers were in high gear seeing to everyone’s safety. Kudos to everyone out there!

I managed to capture a few moments on the water as well as some of the runners coming in afterwards but sadly missed all the cycling due to other obligations. In any case, I hope you enjoy these snapshots of the event. I look forward to being back next year, hopefully to calmer waters.
