OUT and ABOUT with Seeker Chick Mai-Liis: at the Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards

What a wonderful event, Thursday, June 23rd. Definitely the place to be after the past 2 years that we have been through. The general comment from everyone seemed to be – it’s so good to see you!

The event I am talking about is of course the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards. A much smaller event than it has been in the past but I thought it was one of the best events in a long time as it was small and so very much more personal. It has certainly pivoted as have many events due to Covid!

Mcs Bill Hallman and Dan Allaire (seen in header photo with Citizen of the Year Lee Theodore and his daughter Nora) were awesome as always keeping the audience entertained and the presentations running smoothly and thanks to Angela Beros of the Chamber the St. Lawrence Ballroom at the Ramada was beautifully decorated.

Award winners were:

Inclusion and Diversity – Fieldless farms

Community Impact – Tri-County Literacy Council

Small Business of the Year – Cowan’s Dairy

Environmental Impact – DG Vintage

Tourism Excellence – Countryside Adventures (accepting the award were Bill Hallman and Amy Malyon on behalf of Countryside Adventures)

Entrepreneur of the Year – Ian Bentley

Economic Impact – Weaving Baskets Group

Above and Beyond – Friends with Hearts

Large Business of the Year – Cornwall Roof Truss

Lifetime Achievement Award – Allan Wilson

President’s Award – Juliette Labossiere

Citizen of the Year – Lee Theodore

The Seeker would like to extend Congratulations to everyone!
